Nobody knows Night City better than the legends that rule it, so we want to see the best shots of the dark future coming from your lens. With three thrilling categories to be inspired by, take part in our Photo Mode Challenge for a chance to win Cyberpunk 2077 themed prizes.

RULES

Three categories means three chances to share your art with the world. Each category invites you to capture completely different aspects of the Cyberpunk 2077 world. Use the photography setting of your Kiroshis — aka the in-game Photo Mode — to take shots of your in-game experience.

Here’s what you need to keep in mind if you want to participate:

Do:

  • use the in-game Photo Mode only

  • use any and all features available in the Photo Mode

  • make sure your screenshot fits the theme of the chosen category

Do not:

  • further edit the screenshot using any software apart from flipping or cropping

  • submit more than one screenshot per category

Of all the entries submitted for each category, a jury consisting of CD PROJEKT RED team members will select three winning submissions. Their creators, in addition to eternal glory as Cyberpunk 2077 Photo Mode Challenge winners, will also receive a set of prizes!

Important: while it is possible to submit an entry in every category, an already crowned winner will not be able to claim another win — we want as many gamers as possible to have a shot at becoming a Night City photography legend.

CATEGORIES

It’s all about having an eye for detail, and in this edition of the Photo Mode Challenge we’re looking for unique details in the following three categories:

Car Chases
Driving around Night City is never boring. Explosive vehicle combat, flaming wreckage of downed enemies, and the NCPD chasing trigger-happy gangers are all everyday sights on the streets. To win in this category, you may have to put your four (or two)-wheel drive through some damage, but it’ll all be worth it once you nail that shot!
Dogtown
Phantom Liberty's new location* is a lawless city-within-a-city filled with crime, crawling with cut-throat gangs, and riddled with secrets. So, the perfect place to do some street photography. Whether it be the smoke of burning streets, the buzz of Dogtown’s black market, or the neon lights of the Heavy Hearts nightclub, we want to see your coolest shots of the ex-corpo dreamland turned outlaw wasteland.

Netrunning
Netrunners might be some of the most sly characters around and we want you to expose their secrets. We’re looking for images of cyber-enhanced netrunners like Phantom Liberty’s Songbird, shots of tech-filled netrunner hideouts, and, if you’re up for the challenge, you could even photograph some netrunners in action. Anything connected to the Net counts in this one.

Prizes

So, what’s in it for you? Only Night City’s best photographers will find themselves on the podium, and those who do will receive exciting prizes (and street cred, of course). Take a look at what’s up for grabs!

1. HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

Just take some cool pics using the in-game Photo Mode and fill out the submission form above to enter. Good luck!

2. HOW MANY SCREENSHOTS CAN I SUBMIT?

You can only submit one entry per category. Once you enter a screenshot into a given category, you won’t be able to submit another one, so make it count!

3. CAN I PARTICIPATE IN MANY CATEGORIES?

Yes, you can participate in all categories. That said, you will only be able to win one category, even if you have sent in submissions for multiple.

4. WHEN CAN I SUBMIT MY SCREENSHOTS?

The deadline for submissions is October 19th.

5. HOW AND WHEN WILL WINNERS BE CHOSEN?

Winners will be chosen by a dedicated Cyberpunk 2077 Photo Mode Challenge jury. We’ll announce the winners on the game’s social media channels as well as on the challenge website within a month of the competition's submissions deadline.

6. WHO WILL BE THE JURY?

The jury consists of CD PROJEKT RED employees, including in-game photography, in-engine, art, and storytelling experts, as well as members of the Community team.

8. CAN I SHARE A SCREENSHOT I SUBMITTED INTO THE PHOTO MODE CHALLENGE ON MY SOCIAL MEDIA?

Of course you can!. It is your work of art, after all. :)

9. WILL YOU USE SCREENSHOTS I SUBMITTED TO THE CONTEST LATER IN ANY WAY?

We will be sharing all winning screenshots across Cyberpunk 2077’s social media platforms and on the Photo Mode Challenge website when announcing the results of each challenge. We might also share other entries to highlight the amazing work and creativity of our community.

10. CAN I USE ANY COMMUNITY-CREATED MODS FOR CYBERPUNK 2077 WHEN COMPOSING MY SCREENSHOT? CAN I EDIT THE SCREENSHOT USING ANY GRAPHIC SOFTWARE BEFORE SUBMITTING?

Community-created mods are allowed to be featured in your screenshot, but they shouldn’t be the main focus of your submission and cannot drastically change the game (e.g. by swapping entire character models).
